soft wood
Softwood burns hotter but burns quicker than hardwoods, it is not inferior as much of todays stove technology comes from Northern Europe where only softwoods are available to burn. However we do not recommend softwood for open fires as the pines can spit, unless using a fireguard then this would not be a problem. Softwoods are cheaper to buy as the wood grows quicker and is easier to harvest than hardwood. Available in two standard log sizes of 8-10" and 12-14", other sizes of log can be cut , please contact us with your requirements.
